The Investigative Committee in the Moscow Region opened a criminal case on the negligence of police officers who ignored threats to a schoolgirl; she was stabbed by her ex-boyfriend

The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on police negligence due to the murder of a ninth-grader in Podolsk. This was reported by the press service of the Department of the Investigative Committee for the Moscow region.

It is not reported whether any of the security forces are accused or suspected in the case. Earlier, the parents of the deceased turned to the police because the schoolgirl was pursued by her ex-boyfriend. The investigation is underway under an article on negligence that caused the death of a person (Part 2 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code).

On March 10, in Podolsk, an 18-year-old Muscovite killed his ex-girlfriend, ninth grader Katya, because she did not want to to meet with him. The young man came to the schoolgirl's house and, as a result of a quarrel, stabbed her twice in the neck, after which he left the apartment. According to the telegram channel Mash, the young man's name is Mikhail Baranov.

The schoolgirl was found by her classmates who came to visit Katya, as she did not answer her mother's calls for a long time. The ninth grader died on the way to the hospital.

A criminal case was opened against Baranov for murder (Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code) — in the near future a preventive measure will be chosen for him. The prosecutor's office for the Moscow region took control of the course and results of the investigation of the criminal case.
