Last year, the Ford Everest SUV, based on the new Ranger pickup, changed generations. At the same time, the pickup truck received the most powerful version of the Raptor, but the SUV did not. We decided to fill this gap and imagine what such a model might look like.
The Everest frame SUV dates back to 2003, when the production of the first generation of a car made on the basis of the Ranger pickup truck began. Initially, the model was developed for Asian markets, but in the future, the number of countries where it is offered has increased significantly. The third generation of Everest, which premiered in March last year, is offered in Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Africa and China. The only thing the new SUV lacks is a sporty version of the Raptor, which would be even more appropriate for it than for a pickup truck, which received this modification just a week before the Everest premiere.
Ford Everest Raptor render
The Raptor is quite noticeably different from a regular pickup truck, and the Everest shown in the renders received similar changes in appearance. Here is an almost completely redesigned front end with a new grille and bumper. Wide plastic lining appeared on the wheel arches, allowing you to accommodate larger wheels with off-road tires. The rear bumper has also been updated with black plastic trims at the bottom, and below it is a pair of round exhaust pipes.
Ford Everest Raptor
Everest and Ranger are built on a modified T6 frame platform with an extended track and more advanced rear axle kinematics. A feature of the Ranger Raptor model is a 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 biturbo petrol engine, which develops 397 hp. and 583 Nm of torque. The engine is equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
