A number of gynecological diseases of the pelvic organs, as well as various surgical interventions, can directly affect the development of infertility. Among other causes of the disease, the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko named a new coronavirus infection. He emphasized the importance of timely vaccination both for pregnant women and for those who are just planning to become parents.

Adhesions often become one of the main threats to women's reproductive health. For example, diseases such as uterine fibroids and endometriosis often require surgery, which leads to the development of adhesions, in complex cases, contributing to the development of infertility. For example, adhesions often form after a myomectomy, the removal of uterine fibroids, the most common benign tumor in women. According to MD, Prof. Natalia Shchukina, after surgery, intrauterine adhesions form on average in 45-50% of cases.

In order to minimize the adverse effects and reduce the risk of adhesions, hormone therapy is used. However, in the first two months after surgery, there is a risk of thrombosis, therefore, according to experts, the safer and more effective methods are the use of enzyme preparations that prevent the growth of pathological connective tissue.

These include the Russian drug Longidase (bovhyaluronidase azoximer): it helps to reduce the density of existing adhesions and reduces the risk of new ones. The molecule has anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic activity, and can be used to increase bioavailability when antibiotics are used together.

«Longidaza» has a pronounced anti-adhesion effect, reducing the appearance of intrauterine adhesions after surgery by six times. The use of this drug can improve the results not only after myomectomy, but also after any gynecological operations, including those for infertility and endometriosis,” Natalia Schukina concluded.

Adhesions may occur not only after surgery, but also as a result of gynecological diseases. Maria Yarmolinskaya, Professor, MD, said that in at least 60% of cases, endometriosis, which is a chronic disease, leads to adhesions due to a local inflammatory response of the body.

< p>“Our main goal is to achieve the most effective use of drug therapy, avoid repeated surgical interventions, and ensure a decent quality of life. The use of a combined treatment of endometriosis with the inclusion of a drug based on bovhyaluronidase azoximer contributes to a more intense reduction in pelvic pain, a significant improvement in the quality of life, a decrease in inflammatory and adhesive processes, compared with monotherapy,” concluded Maria Yarmolinskaya.
