Scientists have discovered a new corridor in the pyramid of Cheops

CAiro, Mar 3 A new corridor has been discovered in the famous Pyramid of Cheops in Egypt, the Al-Ahram newspaper reported, citing the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of Egypt by Ahmed Isu.
The corridor is nine meters long and 2.1 meters wide. It was found during a scan of the Giza monuments that began in 2015.
Isa added that the work was carried out with the cooperation of the ministry, the Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt and universities from the US, France, Japan, Germany and Canada.

The age of the Giza pyramid complex exceeds 4.5 thousand years. It is located on the plateau of the same name on the western bank of the Nile River near Cairo and consists of the pyramids of the pharaohs of the IV dynasty (ruled approximately in 2639-2506 BC): Cheops, Khafre and Mykerin.

The tomb of the first (the Greek version of the name of the pharaoh Khufu, who lived approximately in 2579-2556 BC) is the largest and oldest of the three Great Pyramids. Its original height was 147 meters. It is made up of 2.3 million limestone blocks with an average weight of 2.5 tons each. The mummy of the pharaoh himself has not yet been found.
Recently, scientists have reconstructed the image of the powerful pharaoh of ancient Egypt, Ramses II.
