PARIS, Mar 17 At the demonstration in Paris, during clashes between radicals and law enforcement officers, a policeman was wounded, a correspondent reports.
Fierce clashes between radicals and police began at protests against pension reform in Paris. The radicals began to break the repair structures that closed two fountains in the square, tearing out boards and metal beams from there. They also dismantled the paving stones and pelted the police with cobblestones.
At least one policeman was injured, he was dragged away by other policemen.
The police began to actively use tear gas to disperse the demonstration.
Earlier, the protesters set up a large fire in the square, in which they burned bicycles and barriers. In the same place, they burned a cardboard doll with the image of Macron.
Spontaneous rally against pension reform takes place on the Place de la Concorde, several thousand people gathered there. They chant «Macron resign!», «Paris, get up!», «Young people on the streets, Macron, this is war!» There are many young people among the participants, as well as black bloc radicals.
The police in advance blocked access to the square from all adjacent streets, as well as from the growth of Concorde, the Champs Elysees and the Tuileries Garden.
Law enforcement officers are on duty on the square. Access to the Bourbon Palace, where the National Assembly sits, is blocked by water cannons.
The day before, a rally against the pension reform adopted by the government was also held at the Place de la Concorde, which the police dispersed with water cannons.
