NIZHNY NOVGOROD, Mar 17The Nizhny Novgorod ambulance paramedic was beaten by the son of an elderly patient, the police took up the case, said the Minister of Health of the region, David Melik-Guseinov.
“An operational report came from the senior officer on duty that an ambulance officer was attacked. The event took place in the village of Armanikha, Dalnekonstantinovsky district. Our ambulance paramedic received bodily injuries, and frankly speaking, he was beaten by a relative of the patient … The ambulance officer from hospitalization refused. But for some time he will have to be treated on an outpatient basis,» Melik-Guseinov wrote in his Telegram channel.
He said the incident had been passed on to the police. «This incident cannot be ignored. Doctors sometimes continue to face such violence against them. And each such egregious event should not go unpunished. We will definitely pay special attention to the investigation of this case,» the minister stressed.
In turn, the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told journalists that they had received a report about an incident involving a paramedic and a relative of an ambulance patient that occurred on the evening of March 16.
«The medical worker said that he was working on an application for the transportation of a bedridden patient from a hospital in the city of Sarov to the village of Armanikha. During a stop on the road, a conflict occurred between the patient's son and the paramedic, during which the man struck the doctor with a fist in the chest area.
