«I think for many this exhibition will be the discovery of a new Petrov-Vodkin, since many of the works came to us from regions where not everyone can get to — we have a vast country. You can see the Red Horse at the Tretyakov Gallery, and here you will see those works that, I hope, will surprise you,» the curator of the exhibition said in an interview with reporters.
The exposition was divided into two parts. The first contains portraits, landscapes, sketches by artists of different years, the press service of the project specifies. The audience will see the works of Lomakina, which she created in Bogorodskoye, where she taught mathematics, Russian language and drawing, and in Zagorsk (now Sergiev Posad), where she moved in the 1930s with her husband. Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra, views of Moscow, Leningrad — all stages of Lomakina's formation as an artist are shown.

In the second part — Crimean works. In particular, Petrov-Vodkin's 1927 painting Earthquake in the Crimea was brought from the Russian Museum. The master, who at that moment was visiting Maximilian Voloshin, witnessed this tragic event.
Vyatka Art Museum sent to the exhibition «Portrait of Ariadna Kholopova» in 1915. For a long time, this painting was considered simply a «portrait of a girl», until in 1966 an adult model saw it at an exhibition in the Russian Museum. It turned out that Kholopova's parents were friends with Petrov-Vodkin. When she was ten years old, the artist painted her portrait.
