The German authorities will are obliged to arrest Russian President Vladimir Putin if he arrives in Germany, German Justice Minister Marco Buschmann said in an interview with Die Zeit.
According to him, Germany will have to comply with the requirements of the International Criminal Court ( ICC). He said that in this case, the ICC would put forward appropriate requirements for Interpol, and after the arrest, the FRG would be obliged to transfer the Russian president to the ICC.
The material notes that Germany is a member of the ICC. Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz welcomed the decision of the ICC, which issued a warrant for the «arrest» of Putin.
On March 17, the ICC announced plans to issue warrants for the «arrest» of Vladimir Putin, as well as the presidential commissioner for children's rights, Maria Lvova -White.
