MOSCOW, March 20 VimpelCom (beeline) provided network infrastructure and equipment in 10 cities to launch new and scale existing Russian CDN and streaming services that deliver content to users in exchange for foreign players who left the market, reports Beeline press service.
This made it possible to reduce network delays by up to two times, thereby improving the quality of content consumption.
The partners of the company are RuGix, Cdnnow! and Kinescope. Beeline provided an opportunity for the above Internet services to connect to the Beeline network infrastructure and place equipment on their technological sites, which allows them to get as close as possible to the end consumer. Beeline also allowed these partners to use their server infrastructure to launch new services and helped implement geographic redundancy and distributed equipment connection in cities throughout Russia.
«The departure from Russia of many foreign players in the field of CDN and streaming has cleared the field for alternative domestic services. Foreign platforms in most cases have ceased to develop their infrastructure in the Russian Federation and work on old stocks, and some have completely stopped working. In total, these services accounted for up to 50% of user traffic, now customers are trying alternatives. We decided to support Russian companies and provided our network infrastructure to RuGix, cdnnow! and Kinescope services. This will allow us to replace the solutions of Western companies and at the same time help the development of domestic products» , — said the vice-president for the operator business of Beeline Sergey Bykov, whose words are quoted by the press service.
RuGix is building a content delivery network based on the cloud capacity marketplace model. The main task of the company is to deliver the Internet traffic of its customers to end users through its own and partner distribution nodes. Cdnnow! — a platform for processing, protecting and delivering video, audio and static content around the world. Kinescope is a full-cycle Russian video platform that combines everything for working with video in the cloud (from video hosting to CDN and Live broadcasts).
