Consumption of gas supplied by Gazprom, resumed Moldova, said on Monday the chairman of the board of «Moldovagaz» Vadim Cheban.
In the telegram channel, he wrote that this was due to weather conditions, due to which gas consumption in Pridnestrovie decreased.
< p>According to Chaban, by the end of March, Moldovagaz will purchase for its consumers about 0.7-0.8 million cubic meters of gas from Gazprom, and take about 1.3-1.5 million cubic meters from the state enterprise Energocom.< /p>
Moldova in full refused to consume Russian gas from December 3, 2022, directing the entire volume received — 5.7 million cubic meters per day — to Pridnestrovie. There, the fuel was used for domestic needs and electricity generation at the Moldavskaya GRES located in the region.
Electricity was supplied to Moldova at a price of $73 per kWh. This is $22 cheaper than the electricity purchased in Romania.
Due to its own capacities, Moldova meets only 20% of electricity needs. The republic consumed gas purchased by Energocom on the stock exchange and stored in Ukraine and Romania. The country does not have its own gas storage facilities.
