The Omsk garrison military court sentenced mobilized Ivan Martynov to six years in a strict regime colony in the case of beating an officer (Part 3 of Article 334 of the Criminal Code). This was reported on the website of the court.
According to the case card, the verdict was passed on February 17th. The judge also ruled to recover from Martynov compensation in favor of the injured officer, the exact amount of which is unknown.
According to the prosecution, the man was mobilized in September. One day, while drunk on the territory of the tent camp, he inflicted “at least twenty blows with his fists” on the head of an officer named Perevalov. The motive for committing the act was Martynov's desire to take revenge on the senior in rank for «previously expressed and justified remarks in the service.» The prosecution also claims that the mobilized wanted to show the officer «his imaginary superiority.»
Martynov partially admitted his guilt. According to the version of the mobilized, not only he was drunk, but also Perevalov. The man claims that the officer provoked the conflict, and in total the servicemen inflicted five blows on each other. Meanwhile, only Perevalov's injuries are reported — a closed craniocerebral injury, a brain hemorrhage and a displacement of the organ by 7 mm to the right.
Witnesses claim that the officer did not resist the mobilized. One of Martynov's colleagues told the court that he ran to the headquarters tent after hearing the sounds of the conflict. Going inside, he saw a mobilized man demanding a certificate from a beaten officer. Martynov explained to those nearby that he had found a spy.
In winter, a military court in Moscow sentenced a mobilized man who pushed an officer during a dispute in Patriot Park to seven years in prison.
