Commander Ukrainian Air Force General Serhiy Golubtsov told the Times newspaper that Kiev is currently losing its best military pilots in anticipation of F-16 fighters.
He clarified that Ukrainian pilots will be able to master Western fighters in just a few months. Thus, the general refuted the statements of representatives of the North Atlantic Alliance and America, according to which training could take years. As an example, he cited two of his subordinates who had recently returned from the United States of America.
“They spent about three weeks in the United States, trained on the F-16 simulator on how to use the weapons of a fighter and fly together as two pilots . I emphasize that the results are very good: Ukrainian pilots can learn to fly the F-16 fighter in less than six months,” Golubtsov said.
According to him, now due to the lack of proper equipment, in particular outdated equipment and delays on the part of NATO with the supply of F-16 fighters, the Ukrainian army is losing its best people.
