According to recent data, a full presentation of the SUV will take place at the end of this week, on March 25th. The model will be available later this year.
The young brand Lynk & Co, which began its history in 2018, is a joint project of Geely and Volvo (the Swedish company belongs to a Chinese holding). The brand announced the appearance of a new crossover in its lineup at the beginning of February of this year: then pictures of a disguised test prototype were published. At the end of the same month, the first teaser appeared, and the manufacturer confirmed the name of the novelty — Lynk & Co 08 (previously it was known under the in-plant index DX11). In the first half of this month, the G8 appeared in the first official photos, and now the model's appearance has been completely declassified.
Lynk & Co 08
As Kolesa.ru previously reported, Lynk & The Co 08 will be the first crossover to feature the brand's new corporate identity. It is worth noting that a similar design has already been seen before: for example, we have already seen similar diode running lights (in the form of dashes that fold into an uneven lowercase “h”) in the upcoming “green” Zeekr X SUV (this brand is also owned by Geely). The lanterns of the G8 will also be unusual: these are the “corners” that are found on the rear wings; they are connected by a dotted line and two additional vertical elements across the entire width of the fifth door.
Judging by the new images, the model received a glossy black plastic body kit around the body, a large air intake in the front, recessed door handles, a black roof, a spoiler on the top of the tailgate, a shark fin antenna, mirrors on separate legs, which are complemented by black decor with brand name (located vertically on the front doors). The company noted that these elements flash during the greeting of the driver and when the battery of the crossover is charging. >Lynk & Co 08 will have a virtual instrument panel, and the front panel will have a separate large touchscreen infotainment system. As we reported earlier this month, Meizu is responsible for the electronics. Multimedia will have support for Flyme Auto (acting as a replacement for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay).

According to preliminary data, the G8 is based on an upgraded version of the CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform developed jointly by Geely and Volvo . It is expected that the new product will be between Lynk & Co 01 (length is 4549 mm, wheelbase — 2734 mm) and the flagship SUV — Lynk & Co 09 (5042 and 2984 mm respectively).

The new crossover will be available as a rechargeable hybrid: it is known that its power plant will be based on a 1.5-liter gasoline four-cylinder turbo engine, other details are still kept secret in the company. There is also still no information about whether this model will have options with traditional combustion engines.
It is expected that the novelty will appear on sale in the home market later this year. Prices Lynk & Co 08 manufacturer will announce later.
