“We show precious icons. There are archaeological monuments here, there are objects of personal piety of warriors who not only defended the land from the Tatar-Mongol raids, but also fought the invasion of the crusaders … who defended their faith since 988, when Christianity was adopted on Rus',» the general director of the Moscow Kremlin Museums told reporters.
The exhibition is among the largest projects in the history of Russian museum business. In total, the exposition includes more than 130 works of icon painting, secular painting, jewelry art and more. There are works that are shown very rarely.
