Hyundai has completely declassified the Solaris sedan of the new generation. Prices are known

The Korean manufacturer has released the technical details of the «four-door». Live sales of the car will begin next month.

In the Russian Federation, one of the most popular models until recently was the Hyundai Solaris sedan. It is sold under other names in other markets, such as Accent in Kazakhstan and Verna in India. The manufacturer officially announced the appearance of the “four-door” of the next generation in the middle of last month. Later, the exterior, interior was shown and a number of data on the technology of the model intended for the Indian market were published. However, the novelty was completely declassified today, March 21.

As Kolesa.ru previously reported, the plant in India will be the main production site for the next generation model, so it's no surprise that the sedan made its debut here. With the change in generation, Hyundai Verna has grown: the length of the local sedan is 4535 mm (95 mm more than the previous Verna), the width is 1765 mm (36 mm more), the height is the same (1475 mm). The distance between the axles has increased to 2670 mm (by 70 mm). For comparison, the Hyundai Solaris, which was previously produced in the FRF, had dimensions of 4405 x 1729 x 1469 mm, and its wheelbase is 2600 mm. The new Verna also has a noticeable increase in trunk volume — 528 instead of 480 liters for the previous sedan (by the way, Solaris also has 480 liters).

As we noted earlier, the exterior design of the new generation Hyundai Verna is made in a more aggressive style compared to its predecessor. The sedan received daytime running lights designed in the form of a thin LED strip (like the restyled Sonata and the flagship Grandeur), and the main head optics units are much lower than those of the previous generation Verna. Also, the “four-door” was equipped with a wide radiator grill, which also “moved out” closer to the lower edge of the front bumper. >

The new generation sedan also has embossed sidewalls and a hood with pronounced stampings. The rear lights, which received additional «sprouts» and decorative «slots» under them, are now connected across the entire width of the stern with an additional functional strip. In addition, the “next” sedan had a more sloping rear window and trunk. Wheels can be either 15″ or 16″.

The interior of the basic version of the new Hyundai Verna is “empty” by modern standards: such cars have analog instruments, air conditioning, no audio system, the steering column has only height adjustment; the equipment includes an ABS system, rear parking sensors and six airbags. generations

For richer versions, a large scoreboard is provided on the front panel, which combines a digital instrument panel and an infotainment system touchscreen (each screen is 10.25 inches diagonal). The central air vents are lower than on its predecessor. At the base of the center console is an additional line of touch buttons, which is duplicated for multimedia and climate control. At the same time, the climate control unit itself retained a small display and washers. The equipment list includes ESP, an audio system with eight speakers, heated and ventilated front seats. The top version also includes a set of electronic driver's assistants. In the Indian market, the new generation sedan will be sold only with gasoline engines (previously there was a diesel engine in the range): a 1.5-liter four-liter MPI “aspirated” will act as the base, its output is 115 hp, and the maximum torque is 144 Nm. The range also includes a 160-horsepower «turbo» T-GDI of the same volume (253 Nm). Both options are paired with a six-speed “mechanics”, as an alternative to the “younger” motor, an IVT variator is put, and the “senior” is a seven-speed “robot” with two clutches.

The new generation Hyundai Verna is now in production at its Indian plant in Chennai, with live sales starting next month. The prices are already known: for the basic version they ask for at least 1,089,900 rupees (equivalent to about 1.014 million rubles at the current exchange rate), and the purchase of the top version will cost 1,737,900 rupees (about 1.617 million rubles). In the Russian Federation, the new Solaris in the near future, obviously, (officially) will not appear.
