MOSCOW, Mar 21Marina Loshak said that before her departure from the post of director of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, she created the installation One and a Half Rooms in the director's office. She shared the details at a press conference.
“As always, at crucial moments in my life, I got used to doing this, working in a museum, so that every step I take is a gesture of art. We decided to make one more statement. called «My one and a half rooms», referring to the thought of Joseph Brodsky. I really love the museum that appeared on this site, I really love these people who work there, and in general, all this together is really my one and a half rooms, «says Loshak .
The installation was placed in the joint director's office. According to Marina Devovna, the door between the two rooms was removed, and one common space turned out. The main exhibits of the installation are two historical tables.
«This is a conversation between two historical tables — Tsvetaevsky's and the table at which we have been working all these years. They stand opposite each other. If there is no one there, you can try to sit on the chair of this table and see that next one, Tsvetaevsky,» said Loshak.
In addition, a corridor was created in the opening between the two rooms, which symbolizes the portal of time. Inside it placed a book of reviews of the most important exhibitions in the museum of different times.
“I wanted it to be obvious that nothing changes depending on who sits on this chair. Everyone who sits on the director’s chair should continue the life of this portal,” Loshak emphasized.
Loshak has served as director of the Pushkin Museum since July 1, 2013. She replaced Irina Antonova, a world-famous art historian and specialist in Italian Renaissance painting, at her post.
Today it became known that Marina Devovna resigned from the post of director of her own free will. Elizaveta Likhacheva, director of the Shchusev Museum of Architecture, has been appointed as the new general director of the museum.
