Yesterday, the first photos of camouflaged samples of an American SUV, which is being prepared for restyling, were published on the Web. We have presented what the novelty will look like.
A full-size frame SUV based on a pickup truck was first introduced in 1991. It was originally sold under the Blazer name, as well as the GMC Yukon. And only since the 1995 model year, the SUV received the now well-known name Tahoe. Today, the assembly line is already the fifth generation of the model, which premiered at the end of 2019. A year and a half later, Tahoe reached the Russian market, at the same time we conducted a test drive. The time is right for a scheduled update, and the test samples have already been spotted by photo spies. What will change?

While the bodies of the prototypes are hidden under a thick layer of camouflage, it is already clear that the Tahoe will receive a new front optics, which will become “two-story” according to the latest fashion: marker LED lights will be located in the upper part, and the main headlight units will be located a little lower in the bumper. There is a possibility that the marker lights will stretch across the entire width of the front, a similar solution was previously applied on the new Silverado EV electric pickup truck, which was first shown at the beginning of last year. A larger grille with horizontal bars will appear, and the front bumper will also probably be tweaked. As for the rear, here through the disguise, noticeable changes have not yet been traced. We can assume that the restyling will affect the graphics of the LED lights, we also depicted a variant with horizontal stripes going to the trunk lid.

There is no information about changes in the technical part yet, but the current Tahoe is built on the GMT T1XX platform, which is also used by the Silverado 1500 pickup. (426 hp, 623 Nm). There is also a Duramax 3.0 turbocharged in-line diesel «six» from the same pickup truck. All versions are equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission, base SUVs are rear-wheel drive, while more expensive versions are all-wheel drive.
