In the Leningrad region, a 20-year-old resident of Sosnovy Bor was detained, who, according to investigators, tried to set fire to the building where the Social Fund and the military enlistment office are located. This is reported by the SHOT telegram channel and the 47News publication, citing unnamed sources.
SHOT claims that the detainee's name is Vladislav Shitikov, who is a second-year student at the Agrotechnical College.
The fire in the building of the military registration and enlistment office and the Social Fund in Sosnovy Bor on Komsomolskaya Street occurred on February 26, 2023. According to SHOT, a young man in a black sweatshirt and black trousers threw four Molotov cocktails into it — one of the bottles got inside the fund, where the ceiling was burned, the military enlistment office was not damaged.
The Telegram channel reports that a criminal case has been opened against Shitikov for intentional damage to property, committed out of hooligan motives (Part 2 of Article 167 of the Criminal Code). Under this article, a college student faces up to 5 years in prison.
