MOSCOW, 22 Mar. The remains of two 5,500-year-old houses have been found in northern China's Shanxi province, writes Xinhua.
The buildings belong to the Neolithic culture of Yangshao, which arose 5000 — 7000 years ago.
«Discovering the foundations of houses is of great importance for studying the design, layout, construction technology and functions of buildings of the middle period of the Yangshao culture,» says Wang Pujun, head of the archaeological project.
The foundation of one building covers an area of 39 square meters, and the second — 30 square meters. On the larger one, fragments of various artifacts were found. For example, stone millstones, ceramic pots. And on the other there are traces of burning.
Earlier it was reported that scientists discovered a new corridor in the pyramid of Cheops.
