The second generation Geely Boyue premiered in August last year, he was assigned the prefix in the form of the letter L, since the company does not plan to retire the previous SUV yet. Recall that in the Russian Federation the predecessor is now sold under the name Atlas Pro. The start of serial production of the new SUV in China was given in September, and «live» sales in the home market began at the end of October 2022.
At the beginning of this year, photos of a new Geely crossover appeared in the database of the Ministry of Industry of the People's Republic of China: then it was assumed that this was the next Coolray. However, now the manufacturer has officially announced this model: it turned out to be the Geely Boyue Cool (Atlas Cool), which will expand the second-generation SUV family. Brand Geely declassified the appearance of the SUV by posting several branded shots of the novelty.Geely Atlas Cool has the same head optics with long vertical «fangs» and taillights of a similar shape (with a modified pattern). The massive radiator grille has the same shape, but a different pattern: instead of horizontal strokes diverging to the sides, there are triangular elements. The air intake integrated into the lower part of the front bumper is also slightly different (in the form of a grid of rectangles, not diamonds). The stern is decorated with a different diffuser, round exhaust pipes (two on each side) and a forked spoiler on the top of the fifth door — where it splits, it has an insert with a brake light.
The Geely Boyue Cool has smaller dimensions than the Boyue L presented last summer. So, its length is 4510 mm (160 mm less), the width is 1865mm (35mm less), the height is 1650mm (55mm less), and the axle spacing is 2701mm (76mm less).
The manufacturer has not yet shown the interior of the new crossover. Recall that the Chinese Atlas of the second generation in the cabin has a virtual “tidy” with a diagonal of 10.25 inches, a two-story tunnel, a “through” joystick of the box and a multimedia system with 5G, an over-the-air update function and a vertical touchscreen (diagonal — 13.2 inches) . The list of equipment includes an augmented reality head-up display, surround view cameras, adaptive cruise control and a lane keeping system.
According to the database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry, the new SUV is available with one engine — a 181-horsepower petrol turbo four BHE15-EFZ with a volume of 1.5 liters, its maximum torque is 290 Nm. Recall that the Boyue L engine range, in addition to the above, includes another option — a 2.0-liter JLH-4G20TDJ with a return of 218 hp. (325 Nm). Both engines are paired with a seven-speed «robot» with two clutches. The second-generation Atlas is also available on the home market as a conventional hybrid (without the possibility of recharging from the mains), at the heart of its installation is a 1.5-liter gasoline “turbo engine” DHE15-ESZ (150 hp, 225 Nm), operating in tandem with an electric motor; total return — 245 hp and 545 Nm. Models further promised a modification of a rechargeable hybrid with a system based on a 2.0-liter turbo engine.
