YAROSLAVL, March 23 Governor of the Yaroslavl Region Mikhail Evraev announced a change in approaches to public debt in the Yaroslavl Region and a qualitative change in debt region loads.
On Thursday, a meeting of the government of the region was held.
«There has been a very serious recovery in the financial sector of the region. In 2022, we completely freed our municipalities from commercial debt. It was a serious burden for municipalities, and we took it upon ourselves,» the press service of the regional government quotes the speech of Governor Mikhail Evraev at the meeting .
Evraev noted that the actions taken led to an increase in the region's debt.
“But we have replaced commercial loans from municipalities with money from the federal center, which cost us practically nothing in terms of interest. Thus, the total debt of the region has grown, but the cost of servicing it has decreased by 800 million rubles a year. This is a lot of money, and they remained in the budget Yaroslavl region,» the governor stressed.
The head of the region recalled that now in the Yaroslavl region there is a moratorium on taking commercial loans at the municipal level. «We are going to cope on our own. And if we take loans, then only from the federal budget, at almost zero interest. We no longer attract commercial loans,» Mikhail Evraev said.
According to him, the commercial debt of the region today is no more than 12 billion rubles. At the end of 2021, it reached 25 billion rubles.
