This week, the Japanese company showed off the concept XRT pickup truck, which allows you to see all the features of the appearance of the new production L200.
The history of the L200 model began in 1978, when the production of the first generation of a compact pickup began. Today, the fourth generation is on the conveyor, which was first introduced in 2014. In the spring of 2019, she underwent a radical restyling, and now a completely new generation is being prepared for the release, and we have the opportunity to evaluate its appearance thanks to the XRT pickup. It was unveiled at the Bangkok Motor Show that opened on Tuesday and is currently listed as a concept, although it is actually a fifth-generation L200 pickup truck covered in camouflage film. jpg» />Render of the new L200
The novelty will receive a very brutal angular design. A large grille will appear in front, “sandwiched” between a pair of wide C-shaped moldings. Optics according to the latest fashion is made “two-story”: in the upper part there will be narrow blocks with three L-shaped LED elements in each, and a little lower in the bumper there will be the main blocks of low and high beams. On the side, characteristic horizontal stampings located on the wings and entering the door stand out. At the rear, the pickup will get large angular lights, their graphics are still hidden under a camouflage film, but we have depicted one of the possible options.

There is no official data on the technical features of the new L200 yet. It is assumed that it will be built on a frame platform, which will later be borrowed by the new Nissan Navara and Renault Alaskan pickups, as well as future SUVs from Mitsubishi and Nissan. Most likely, the dimensions of the model will increase compared to the previous generation, including the length and wheelbase.
The premiere of the novelty will take place in the coming months.

Until recently, the current L200 was officially introduced to the Russian market with two diesel engine options. Base 2.4 with 154 hp paired with a 6-speed «mechanics» is estimated at least 4,179,000 rubles. A more powerful 181-horsepower version with an engine of the same volume is equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission and is offered for 5,219,000 rubles. All versions are equipped with all-wheel drive.
