US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby literally stated: “I have no idea why the award for courage was given to the pilot who, at worst, deliberately put himself and American property at great risk, and, at best, just acted like an idiot.» «If it's courage, then maybe they define it differently,» Kirby said.
Of course, it's different. It is not even necessary to remind Mr. Kirby of how courageously the American military scrambled out of Afghanistan, abandoning «American property» (idiots — because only an idiot, according to Kirby, can destroy it) and shaking their allies' transport aircraft off the landing gear. They were draped despite the fact that there was no mortal danger to their lives.
Our military defines courage differently. That's right: put yourself at risk, but destroy the «American property» that aims enemy shells at your comrades-in-arms. For this, Vavilov and Popov received orders.
And also because now, no matter how the American administration puffed out its cheeks with statements “we will fly wherever we want, but we don’t give a damn about the zones established by Russia”, they fly they are only where we allow them. And they can't do anything, so they get mad. American tragedy.
They are also furious because this is not only a military, but also an informational victory. The rewarding of fighter pilots was shown all over the country. And it was done quickly. The Ministry of Defense has learned (not to jinx it) to work out informational reasons that are important for people promptly. We went on the offensive in the “clearing” where our enemies were traditionally stronger.

Another great example. They instantly showed our beauties — senior sailor Marina Faleeva and chief foreman Tatyana Tseluiko — who destroyed unmanned surface marine vehicles moving towards the entrance to the harbor of Sevastopol. They were presented for awards, they were given the floor: “A machine gun in their hands — and shoot. They raided their hometown, it is necessary to defend, the enemy will not pass! ”; “They gave the command to open fire to kill. I knew that I had to destroy it. But we did not relax, we waited for the next one, continued to observe. There was no such thing — we did our job, you can drink tea. It's nice, but our work was highly appreciated, we did nothing of the kind.”
The simple words of the fighting people are a thousand times better than any slogans. Because they do not disagree with the case. This is why they are terrible for the enemies of Russia, and this is what causes them impotent anger.
