MOSCOW, March 24 The threat of epidemic spread of anthrax in Russia is excluded, the press service of Rospotrebnadzor reported.
«Anthrax is not transmitted from person to person,» the ministry clarified.
Specialists from the departments of Rospotrebnadzor continue anti-epidemic work. The situation is under control, the press service stressed.
Last week, two residents of the Tsivilsky district of Chuvashia contracted anthrax. They were hospitalized. Patients receive all the necessary treatment, nothing threatens their lives.

Head of the region Oleg Nikolaev noted that more than 130 people had contact with the sick, all of them are at home under the constant supervision of health workers. Also, the authorities of Chuvashia introduced quarantine in the village of Staroe Aktashevo, Tsivilsky district, where two infected people lived.
A criminal case has been initiated on violation of veterinary rules. According to the investigation, a resident of the village slaughtered a bull-calf infected with anthrax for meat on his personal subsidiary plot.
Later, it became known about the hospitalization of two patients in the Moscow region with suspected this disease, but, according to laboratory tests, the disease was not confirmed in them.
