Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson may be directly involved in the disruption of the Russian-Ukrainian peace talks, said the Left Party of the German Bundestag.
The corresponding appeal of the party was sent to the German Cabinet. German parliamentarians believe that during his unofficial visit to Kyiv on April 9, 2022, Johnson could influence Kiev and call for blocking any peace initiatives. The deputies believe that without the intervention of Johnson, the Russian Federation and Ukraine could have found a peaceful solution in the first months after the start of the conflict.
They also note the publications of the Ukrainian media, which report that the negotiations finally reached an impasse on April 9, that is immediately after Johnson's visit to Kiev. According to the Left Party of the Bundestag, on the eve of his visit, Johnson called on Zelensky «not to make any concessions to Vladimir Putin.»
