The son of the governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexander Uss Artem was able to turn off the electronic bracelet in a very short time. It will be almost impossible to find it in Italy. This was stated in an interview with RIA Novosti by the secretary general of the trade union of employees of the penitentiary police, Aldo Di Giacomo.
According to him, the bracelet is connected to the central console inside the job and has a limited range. In case of going beyond it or trying to turn it off, the police receive an alert, and an average of about seven minutes pass before the arrival of the carabinieri. Most likely, at this time the Russian kept within. But according to Di Giacomo, seven minutes in Italy is a great time to escape. “In Milan, in 7 minutes you will have time to move so far that it will be impossible to find you, especially if you have money and preparation,” the expert says. He does not exclude the possibility of using a private plane or a car to escape, which, due to the proximity of the border, can get to several neighboring states at once.
The name of Artem Uss is included in the database of wanted persons. There was no evidence that he could have left Italy.
In 2022, Artem Uss and five other Russians were charged in the United States with money laundering and sanctions evasion, transfer of dual-use products and oil smuggling. On October 17, he was detained on an American warrant at Milan airport, from where he planned to fly to Turkey. In early December, he was transferred from prison to house arrest.
On Tuesday, March 21, the Milan Court of Appeal authorized the extradition of Artem Uss to the United States. On March 23, the son of the Krasnoyarsk governor left a rented apartment in an unknown direction, after breaking his electronic bracelet.
