
MOSCOW, Mar 24 Costume designer and screenwriter Gordon T. Dawson has died in California at the age of 84 from a lung disease, writes Deadline.
He came to the cinema after working as a fireman. Director Sam Peckinpah asked him to help age the costumes for the 1965 film Major Dundee. Dawson subsequently worked with Peckinpah as a co-writer on Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia in 1974. He also starred in small roles in the films of this director.
He also wrote scripts for television projects. For example, for the western «Bret Maverick».
Among his major projects is the neo-western with Chuck Norris «Cool Walker», released in April 1993. He wrote 30 episodes, produced the fourth season, and subsequently worked on the show as a supervising producer, co-writer and executive producer. Thanks to «Cool Walker» Chuck Norris became a legend in cinema and the field of martial arts.
