The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called publications about the «plan» of rapprochement between Russia and Moldova rumors

MOSCOW, March 24 Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, commenting on publications in the German press about a certain «plan» for rapprochement between Moscow and Chisinau, said that the launch of such rumors is aimed at artificially aggravating the situation and destroying ties between our countries.
Earlier, the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung published an article in which it claimed that, among a number of other media, it received documents at its disposal, according to which Moscow allegedly developed a plan providing for the rapprochement of Moldova with the Russian Federation. According to the publication, the so-called «Kremlin's plan» contains such goals until 2022 as the alleged «neutralization» of Moldova's measures «aimed at ending the Russian military presence in Transnistria», countering attempts to restrict the activities of Russian media in Moldova, as well as the signing of bilateral agreements on mutual recognition of education, qualifications and degrees. In addition, the goals until 2025 allegedly provide, in particular, «opposition to Moldova's cooperation with NATO».

Zakharova noted that «recently a lot of insinuations have been circulating around Moldova — both in the Moldovan and European public space.» «Recently, a speculative topic was thrown about a certain Russian plan to «destabilize» the situation in the Republic of Moldova, which Zelensky conveyed to Chisinau. We have already disavowed this fake,» she explained, adding that «today you are asking about the publication in the German press, where with similar overtones, there is talk of a plan to «rapprochement» between Russia and Moldova. «Obviously, the launch of such rumors is aimed at artificially aggravating the situation and destroying ties between our countries and peoples,» Zakharova said.

She stressed that, «of course, there is nothing wrong with the rapprochement between Russia and Moldova as such.» «Russia and Moldova are united by a common history and culture, economic interconnectedness, spiritual and civilizational commonality, close human contacts. We have always been and remain interested in a constructive, pragmatic and mutually respectful dialogue with Chisinau,» she stressed, pointing out that «all the necessary tools there are for this purpose.»
«First of all, a solid legal framework, intergovernmental and interparliamentary commissions, joint participation in integration associations, extensive trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties. But most importantly, the presence of such a fundamental factor as the desire peoples of our countries to friendly and mutually beneficial relations between Moldova and Russia. We are convinced that it is in their interests that we should work together,» Zakharova said. coup d'état in Moldova, Chisinau wants to deflect blame for the failure socio-economic policy, which causes indignation among the citizens of the country. The Russian Foreign Ministry called on the Moldovan authorities to stop the confrontational anti-Russian rhetoric in the country. They added that Moscow is determined to have friendly relations with Moldova and is not pleased that this country is being used for anti-Russian purposes.
