The Swedish brand's new all-electric SUV is expected to arrive in 2025. The model will receive a design in the style of the flagship large crossover EX90.
According to the development strategy, Volvo intends to complete the complete «greening» of the model range by the end of this decade. For this, the Swedish manufacturer, which is part of the Chinese holding Geely, has created a separate electric line. The new flagship electric crossover of the brand, the Volvo EX90, acted as its firstborn. By the way, the company is going to sell it simultaneously with the XC90 (with internal combustion engine), this model is preparing for restyling.

Volvo will introduce another novelty of the «green» family in the coming summer — the EX30 subcompact crossover. It is known that the production of this SUV will be established in China. Note that there is no XC30 model in the current Volvo model range, so the novelty will not have an analogue with internal combustion engines. «/>
Another member of Volvo's battery-powered family is the EX60, which is expected to join the brand's lineup in 2025. It is assumed that it will become the successor to the Volvo XC60: the second-generation crossover was introduced in 2017, and the model underwent an update in March 2021. Earlier it was reported that the third-generation SUV will not have versions with internal combustion engines. There is no official word yet on what the Volvo EX60 will look like. The designer of the Spanish publication Motor.es offers his own version of the exterior of the future novelty. It is assumed that in the design of the appearance of the crossover, a lot will be borrowed from the «big brother». So, the model has a similar design of the “front end”: we are talking, in particular, about the head optics in the form of a “Thor’s hammer” with “pixel” LED daytime running lights, as well as a similar plug with a large brand logo in place of the traditional radiator grille.< br />

According to the render, the crossover can get the same laconic air intake integrated into the lower part of the front bumper with a pattern in the form of thin horizontal stripes, similar stampings on the sidewalls. The only difference is the size and shape of the stern.

The interior is expected to be decorated in much the same style as the EX90. In the center, there will probably be a large vertical infotainment tablet, and in front of the driver there will be a small horizontal display that acts as a virtual “tidy”. The salon will only be two-row, designed for five riders.
According to the publication, the Volvo EX60 will be based not on the SPA2 (Sustainable Experience Architecture) platform, which is known to us, including from some models of the Polestar brand. It is possible that the GPA (Global Product Architecture) “trolley” can form the basis of the EX60. According to preliminary data, the power reserve on a single charge for such a crossover will be 600 km, and the maximum power of the electric power plant may be equal to 540 hp. The company is expected to release specifications towards the end of 2024.
