Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he had sent an official proposal to Beijing to hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
«I did not receive an offer from China be a mediator,» he said in an interview with the Japanese edition of The Yomiuri Shimbun.
Zelensky also said that he had not received any offers to meet with the leadership of the PRC.
«But I am through diplomatic channels gave direct messages that I want to talk with Chinese leader Xi Jinping,» the Ukrainian leader said.
In addition, he expressed skepticism about the possibility of resolving the crisis based on the Chinese 12-point plan. Zelensky explained that respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine should come first.
