MOSCOW, Mar 26 National Hockey League Club Head Coach ( NHL) Carolina Hurricanes Rod Brindamore said his team could not have won the regular season game against the Toronto Maple Leafs without Russian goaltender Peter Kochetkov.
On Saturday, «Carolina» beat «Toronto» with a score of 5:3. Kochetkov saved 41 shots out of 44 and was recognized as the second star of the match.
“We had a good first period and then the world class players in the opposing team took over and we just watched it happen. I take my hat off to them because they had a really good match. what we do is they just attacked in «waves». If it wasn't for our goalkeeper, we wouldn't have been able to win. It's funny how it happens, in the first two matches against this team, I thought we deserved to win. Today we didn't deserve it. Sometimes everything comes back,» Brindamour was quoted by The News & observer.
