Enough for an apartment? How much did Russian skaters earn per season

This week the final tournament of the season in figure skating is taking place in Japan — the World Championship, from participation in which, as in other competitions, Russian athletes were suspended. And, consequently, they were deprived of the chance to earn solid prize money. But the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) organized a replacement — this season money was paid at all major domestic Russian tournaments. Did our skaters manage to survive the suspension season relatively painlessly financially? We believe.

There were two main ways of earning money for Russian skaters this season — participation in competitions and shows. Advertising contracts, of course, do not count. As for the tournaments, the Russian Grand Prix series organized by the FFKKR and its Final, the Russian Championship, the First Channel Cup, as well as two new competitions — the national jumping championship and the Russian Challenge, aka the show tournament -programs.

The Russian Grand Prix consisted of six stages — two were held in Moscow, one each in Sochi, Kazan, Samara and Perm. At each of them, an athlete or a duet received 500 thousand rubles for the victory, 300 thousand for the second place, and 200 thousand for the third. It is not difficult to calculate that Kamila Valieva and Elizaveta Tuktamysheva earned from women for winning two stages a million each (of course, excluding taxes). Two silver medals at the stages allowed Sofya Muravyova to become richer by 600 thousand, and Sofya Akatieva for the second and third places — by half a million. Adelia Petrosyan also received 500 thousand for winning the Sochi stage, which was the only one in which she performed.

But on the other hand, the Final of the Russian Grand Prix, which Petrosyan won, brought her a full-fledged million rubles — that's how much the champion of the final tournament of the series in St. Petersburg was supposed to. Valieva for the second place received 750 thousand, and Tuktamysheva for bronze — 500 thousand. » />

In men's single skating, Dmitry Aliev, who won both of his tournaments, became the only millionaire following the results of the Russian Grand Prix stages. Evgeny Semenenko and Gleb Lutfullin received 800 thousand for gold and silver at their stages, Petr Gumennik and Mark Kondratyuk for gold and bronze — 700 thousand each. Alexander Samarin credited half a million for the second and third places at the stages.

In the Grand Prix Final, Gumennik received a million thanks to his victory. Aliyev, who made a dizzying “comeback” after a short program for second place, became richer by 750 thousand rubles, and Kondratyuk, having managed to recover from an injury due to which he did not compete in competitions between the Grand Prix and the Final, earned for third place half a million.

In pair skating and ice dancing, the prize fund, of course, is divided between the partners in half (unless, by the way, they have any other agreements, anything can happen). According to the results of the stages of the Russian Grand Prix among sports couples, Alexandra Boykova/Dmitry Kozlovsky and Anastasia Mishina/Alexander Gallyamov earned a million for two. Evgenia Tarasova/Vladimir Morozov and Natalya Khabibullina/Ilya Knyazhuk received 800 thousand each. Boikova and Kozlovsky credited another million to their account for winning the Final, Mishina and Gallyamov received 750 thousand for second place in St. Petersburg, and Tarasova and Morozov — 500.

Among dance duets, Annabel Morozov and David Narizhny received a million for winning two stages, and then they decided to part with this money, so they no longer performed in the Final. Elizaveta Khudaiberdiyeva and Yegor Bazin also missed the Final, having also earned a million at the stages of the series. Vasilisa Kaganovskaya/Valery Angelopol and Sofia Tyutyunina/Andrey Bagin received 800 thousand each. Kaganovskaya and Angelopol added a million to this amount for winning the Russian Grand Prix Final, and Tyutyunina/Bagin for third place in this tournament — 500 thousand. Finally, Elizaveta Shanaeva and Pavel Drozd won 600 thousand rubles at the stages of the series, and then 750 thousand — for the second place in the Final.

The Russian Championship for figure skaters is traditionally the most nervous start. It has always been decided whether your season will last or not, it has been selected for the main starts, the European and World Championships and the Olympic Games. There was no selection this season, but an absolutely unprecedented prize fund added intrigue. For the victory they were awarded as much as 2.5 million rubles, for the second place — one and a half million, for the third — a million. As a result, Akatieva received a check from the girls with the most substantial amount. Valieva became richer by 1.5 million after the Russian championship, and Tuktamysheva left a million. In men, the main prize was taken by Evgeny Semenenko. Petr Gumennik received an equal assessment with him at the end of the tournament in Krasnoyarsk, but because of the very “additional indicators” that determined him to second place, and not to first, the amount on the bank card for the performance turned out to be a million less. Finally, Alexander Samarin earned a million for his confident third place.

In pair skating, the main prize was won by Boikova and Kozlovsky, who won the national championship for the second time in their careers. Mishina and Gallyamov «silvered» one and a half million rubles, and Tarasova and Morozov received a million for bronze. For gold in ice dancing, Khudaiberdieva and Bazin earned 2.5 million, while Shanaeva/Drozd and Pasechnik/Nekrasov, respectively, received second and third prizes.

The Russian Jumping Championship was held for the first time last season as a separate competition. Valieva and Grigory Fedorov received one million rubles each in the individual competition. In the team tournament, Evgeni Plushenko's team earned five million for the first place — Muravyov, Veronika Zhilina, Sofia Titova, Nikita Sarnovsky, Makar Ignatov, Gumennik, Mishina and Gallyamov. Three million for the second place was given to the team of Eteri Tutberidze — Valiev, Akatieva, Arseniy Fedotov, Aliyev, Alisa Dvoeglazova, Andrey Mozalev, Tarasova and Morozov. Figure skaters, who were united by Alexei Mishin — Tuktamysheva, Sofya Samodelkina, Mikhail Kolyada, Semenenko, Lutfullin, Samarin, Boikova and Kozlovsky — received a million. The Channel One Cup was held with a total prize fund of 20 million rubles. The main prize of 11 million was received by the «Red Machine» team of captain Alina Zagitova — Akatiev, Petrosyan, Veronika Yametova, Alina Gorbacheva, Gumennik, Samarin, Artem Kovalev, Lutfullin, Mishina/Gallyamov and Tarasova/Morozov. The losers — the team «They Won't Catch Us», whose captain was Valiev, who missed the competitions themselves due to illness — got 9 million rubles. This amount was distributed among themselves by Tuktamysheva, Muravyova, Anastasia Zinina, Samodelkina, Semenenko, Alieva, Mozalev, Ignatov, Boykova/Kozlovsky and Yasmina Kadyrova/Valery Kolesov.

Finally, perhaps the most discussed — and at the same time the most controversial — tournament of the season, which was the «Russian Challenge», brought the largest amount to the 2002 Olympic champion Alexei Yagudin, who had already completed his career, whose show program the judges rated the most. He earned five million rubles for the victory. The second and third places were taken by figure skaters who did not officially end their careers, but did not compete in other tournaments last season — Victoria Sinitsina/Nikita Katsalapov (they received 3 million rubles) and Anna Shcherbakova (1 million).

Among those who did not miss the season, Valieva, Kondratyuk and Kaganovskaya/Angelopol earned the most in the show program tournament — they received a million each for winning the audience choice contest. Kolyada became the owner of a special prize of 500 thousand rubles from the People's Artist of Russia Yevgeny Mironov, the same amount was received by Tuktamysheva from the People's Artist of Russia Boris Eifman and Akatiev from the Honored Artist of Russia Alla Sigalova.

The federation also announced that during the season, figure skaters would receive rating points in tournaments. According to the results, the winner of the first place in the ranking should receive 5 million rubles, 2.5 million for the second place and 1 million for the third. Officially, this rating has not yet been published, but it is obvious that the leaders of the season will receive a solid reward for the stability of successful performances.

We should also not forget about the shows in which our skaters performed throughout the season — mainly, of course, on holidays and in between competitions. The organizers of all such events, as a rule, do not disclose the amount of fees for participation, but sometimes they become known through official documents. Thus, information was published on the website of the Unified Information System for Procurement that Valieva received more than 6.6 million rubles for 15 performances in Tatiana Navka's show «Scheherazade's Love Story». Tuktamysheva earned more than 900 thousand for seven performances. Sinitsina in the role of Scheherazade earned more than 10 million rubles in 20 performances. 45 thousand dollars are required, in the doubles for two — 67 thousand. It turns out that the loss of those with a recalculation at the current exchange rate of three and a half million rubles, which Valieva would have received for a possible victory in the world championship, she compensated only at the stages and the Final of the Russian Grand Prix, as well as the national championship. We did not offend financially the rest of our leaders. Of course, the world title is priceless, but when the Russian figure skaters had no opportunity to compete for it through no fault of their own, it's nice that at least they were not left without money.
