The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on military «fakes» (Part 1 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code) against economist Konstantin Sonin. This was reported to the Moscow agency by an “informed source”.
According to the interlocutor of Moskva, Sonin is charged with three posts in his Telegram channel. The content of the publications is unknown, but the source of the agency said that the economist wrote about the actions of the Russian army in them.
Since September 2015, Sonin has been working at the School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago. From August 2013 to December 2014, he served as Vice-Rector of the Higher School of Economics (HSE). Prior to that, Sonin was also Vice-Rector of the Russian School of Economics (NES).
