A Russian blogger traveled to Istanbul and told how she nearly fell victim to the most common “divorce” scheme in Turkey. The story was shared on the Zen platform.
It all happened in the popular tourist area of Balat. While walking with her husband, she met a “dandelion grandfather” who was carrying a small stool, a bag and shoe polish. Then the elderly man unexpectedly and, as it were, accidentally dropped the brush.
“What will a normal Russian person do? Of course, he will call out to his grandfather and give him the brush back. So I tried to do it,” the blogger writes. But her husband took her by the hand and dragged her away.
The Russian woman explained that in such situations, such a grandfather usually aggressively begins to offer to clean her shoes, and then demand money. If a person refuses to pay, then the “support team” of the fraudster appears and begins to shame the tourist.
