WASHINGTON, Mar 26 — RIA Novosti. Telephone talks between US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping are still unscheduled, White House strategic communications coordinator John Kirby said.
«There is no date for the call yet,» he said in an interview with CBS News when asked about the time of the Biden-Xi call.
He also stressed that Biden is interested in maintaining open lines of communication between Washington and Beijing and is aiming for a new conversation with the head of China.
Earlier, Kirby told reporters that the talk between the leaders of the two countries will take place at the right time, but for now the Chinese leader remains busy.
It was previously noted that a possible telephone conversation could be the first contact between the heads of the two countries since their meeting at the G20 summit in Bali last November.
