According to him, some members of the Council expressed the opinion that it is necessary to complete national investigations first, and then consider the idea of an international investigation .
«More than six months have passed since the explosions, and it is necessary to carry out these investigative actions as soon as possible, otherwise it will be more difficult to collect evidence and obtain reliable results of investigations,» the diplomat stressed.
Earlier, the UN Security Council did not adopted a Russian draft resolution on the establishment of an international commission to investigate the incident. The document did not get the required number of votes due to the position of Western countries. Russia, China and Brazil voted in favor, the rest of the countries abstained.
