MOSCOW, Mar 25 Founder of the Orthodox social movement «Forty Sorokov» Andrei Kormukhin announced the establishment of a new political party «For the Family!» during its first congress.
«Dear delegates of the founding congress, dear guests, colleagues, friends, brothers and sisters, I congratulate you on the establishment of the political party of traditionalists of Russia «For the Family!». All procedural matters have been completed, delegates from more than 50 regions voted for the establishment of the party «For the family!» and elected all the leading bodies of the party,» Kormukhin said, noting that the party was created on the basis of the Orthodox social movement «Forty Forties».
The founder of the new party also stated that its charter and program were also adopted.
«Now we have to register. And we will definitely pass this way», — he added.
Kormukhin explained to journalists that «For the family!» is «a party on a political spectrum that has been empty until today.» «The appearance of such a party is overdue, because in our country the majority of people consider themselves supporters of traditional spiritual and moral values,» he explained.
Earlier on Saturday, Kormukhin said that the party was ready to take part in the 2023 elections if it was registered by that time. This year, elections in Russia are planned on a single voting day on September 10, 2023.
The founder of the party said that Hero of Russia Igor Zadorozhny, Lieutenant General of the SVR and historian Leonid Reshetnikov, journalist Anna Shafran, military commander Anastasia Mikhailovskaya, political scientist became members of the political council Vladimir Samoilov and others.
