MOSCOW, March 28 The police closed the criminal case initiated against the singer Vitas, for reconciliation of the parties, said the artist's lawyer Sergey Zhorin.
“The parties have reconciled, shook hands, have no mutual claims, the criminal case has been terminated,” the source said.
Last year, a criminal case was initiated against Vitas under paragraph «b» of part 2 of article 115 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation «Intentional infliction of minor bodily harm.»
The reason was the conflict between the singer and an official of the Ministry of Labor Sultan Dzhandigov in a karaoke club. As a result of the quarrel, Vitas sprayed the man in the face with pepper spray. The victim was diagnosed with chemical burns to the eyes.
According to the lawyer, the artist stood up for his wife when Dzhandigov insistently asked her to sing.
Vitas already had problems with the law. In 2018, the artist received seven days of administrative arrest for shooting near his home in Barvikha. In 2013, the Ostankino Court of Moscow sentenced the musician to a fine of 100,000 rubles for hitting a girl on a bicycle while driving an SUV, and then got into a skirmish with witnesses and a policeman.
