VORONEZH, Mar 28 A cook will stand trial over a mass poisoning at a camp site in Voronezh that left 12 people sick with salmonellosis, the regional prosecutor's office said Tuesday.
«Deputy regional prosecutor Konstantin Kremnev approved the indictment in a criminal case against a 56-year-old senior cook at Furor LLC,» the report says.
< br />According to the prosecutor's office, the cook is charged under the article «Violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules, resulting in a mass disease or poisoning of people through negligence.» It is clarified that this article provides for punishment of up to two years in prison.
«In August 2021, the senior chef working at the catering point of the Oblomov tourist center in Voronezh did not properly organize the work of the kitchen and did not control compliance with the cooking technology and sanitary requirements by subordinate employees, and also, personally engaged in cooking, violated the technology for preparing one of the dishes,» the supervisory authority informs.
According to the investigation, as a result, mass poisoning occurred at the camp site, 12 people fell ill with salmonellosis. The accused, according to the prosecutor's office, pleaded guilty.
It is noted that the criminal case will be sent to the Voronezh Railway Court.
