A court in North Ossetia fined an activist because of a photo from an anti-war rally in Tbilisi, where he has been living since last year

The Mozdok District Court of North Ossetia fined activist Vladimir Zagalov 30,000 rubles because of a photo from an anti-war picket in Tbilisi. The corresponding decision was published on the website of the court, Kavkaz.Realii paid attention to it.

Zagalov's page on VKontakte was discovered by employees of the Center «E», who monitored the social network. On March 27, Judge Elena Bondarenko found him guilty under a protocol on “discrediting” the army (Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

The court ruling says that Zagalov, among other things, published photographs of the coat of arms of Ukraine “with the slogan of Ukrainian nationalists”, as well as “graphic and text materials, videos that distort and discredit the tasks” of the Russian military. Among such materials is a photograph of Zagoev from a rally in the center of Tbilisi, where he holds a small banner with the inscription «Stop the war and violence.»

According to the security forces, other images were also published on the page, which confirm that the man «was photographed against the background of other people participating in the rally», protesting against the war. The activist has been living in Georgia since September 2022, the court session in North Ossetia took place without his participation.
