VLADIVOSTOK, Mar 28The research laboratory of Roskosmos, which will be based on a ground-based complex for receiving and processing space information, is planned to be opened on the basis of the Far Eastern Federal University, a representative of the university said.
«During a working visit to FEFU, a delegation from the Scientific Research Institute of Precision Instruments (NII TP JSC), as a representative of Roscosmos, agreed on the terms of reference for organizing a ground-based complex for receiving and processing space information. The complex will become part of a research laboratory that will develop domestic products in the field of satellite data processing and will be located at the FEFU Polytechnic Institute,» the source said.
The university provided a commentary from the rector of the Far Eastern Federal University Boris Korobets, who noted that the creation of such a center from Roscosmos will help build an educational trajectory related to the space industry, together with a real customer.
«I am sure that together with Roskosmos we will be able to train professionals in demand and develop high-quality domestic solutions in the field of satellite data processing, which will significantly expand the scope of their possible application,» said Korobets.
The opening of the laboratory is one of the events for the launch of the Roscosmos Research Space Center on the basis of the Russian Engineering Center and the FEFU Polytechnic Institute. The FEFU and Roskosmos project is being implemented as part of the execution of the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to which a modern high-tech engineering complex is being formed on Russky Island in Vladivostok.
