WASHINGTON, Mar 30 Globalization of the world economy leads to inequitable distribution benefits between countries and peoples, said Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), calling for recognition of this fact.
«We must recognize that the benefits of globalization are not shared fairly among countries and people,» she said in her speech at the Boao Forum for Asia in China.
Georgieva also added that global supply chains need to be more diversified and secure.
On Tuesday, the Asian Economic Forum opened in Boao on the Chinese island of Hainan, which is informally called «Eastern Davos». The forum was established in 2001.
