Matviychuk did not rule out that in April the Armed Forces of Ukraine will go deep into the territory of Russia
The sorties of enemy sabotage groups in the Bryansk region may become a “dress rehearsal” for the spring offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The ex-special forces officer, intelligence officer, retired colonel Anatoly Matviychuk, in a conversation with MK, admitted that during the offensive the Armed Forces of Ukraine could try to break through to the Bryansk region.
The Ukrainian sabotage group on the eve again tried to attack the Bryansk region. So, on Wednesday night, the enemy in two pickup trucks tried to break into the village of Lomakovka. However, this attempt, fortunately, was not successful — the territory was guarded by the Russian military. They opened artillery fire and blew up one of the vehicles, the second pickup managed to escape. As a result of the actions of saboteurs, none of the local residents and the military was injured. But the enemy suffered significant losses for such an action — eight people died on the part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Recall that this is not the first attempt by Ukrainian DRGs to penetrate deep into Russia. The most famous was the terrorist attack in the Klimovsky district in early March. Then the saboteurs kept two villages in fear for six hours, killed two people and wounded two more. In addition, on the same day, March 2, a similar large group of Ukrainian military tried to break into Russian territory through the border village of Belaya Beryozka, Trubchevo district.
According to military expert Anatoly Matviychuk, the enemy may try to penetrate deep into Russia and during the spring offensive.
— In any case, the offensive will take place, but it will not be as large-scale as our opponents are trying to imagine. It will be some kind of tactical action. Three trends are clearly visible now. The first direction is Kherson. The enemy will try to reach the left bank of the Dnieper. The second direction is Zaporozhye. There, the Armed Forces of Ukraine may try to seize the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. The third, Kupyanskoye direction, will become a red herring. Most likely, the enemy will try to reach the border with Russia and go deeper into our territories. After that, one should wait for statements that he finally “transferred hostilities to the territory of Russia.”
The expert believes that the offensive may be successful, since the enemy has accumulated a sufficient amount of forces and means:
— These actions are possible. Moreover, now the Kiev regime is creating a grouping, which, according to our estimates, is quite serious. Now the Armed Forces of Ukraine, taking into account the supply of equipment and weapons, have aviation. In addition, there is a sufficient amount of artillery — where 600-700 «barrels» of various calibers and up to 150 tanks. These are already serious opportunities that can be realized in the chosen direction. But the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not be able to enter Crimea. They will be thrown back, because we have not even fully used all our forces and those people whom we have mobilized.
The expert also noted that the offensive will begin «suddenly»:
— This will happen when the weather is right, both in the north and in the south of Ukraine. Most likely it will be in early April.
