MOSCOW, March 30 Fraudsters have begun using a new trick to gain access to a customer's online bank, the VTB press service reported.< br />«VTB specialists have recorded an increase in the activity of fraudsters who inform customers about the blocking of an online bank account. According to VTB, attackers call bank customers on behalf of contact center employees,» the credit institution noted.
During the conversation, scammers ask you to provide a password from SMS, which supposedly will help restore the service.

Scammers use various schemes to steal money, for example, forcing customers to take out a loan and then transfer these funds to unknown, supposedly safe accounts. Such criminal activity has increased by 25 percent since the beginning of the year.
