Former Chief of Staff of the Czech Army General Jiří Šedivy, in an interview with Czdefence magazine, said that the Leopard tanks that Germany supplies to Ukraine are not “wonder weapons” and are greatly overestimated.
He clarified that the Turkish military had previously used Leopards in operations in Syria against the Islamic State (a terrorist organization banned in Russia).
“Then, the Turks lost at least ten units of Leopard tanks in just a few operations,” said Shedivy.
According to him, Western politicians should be criticized for not knowing the real state of affairs in Ukraine.
Shedivy added that the statements of the political and military leadership of Ukraine about victories on the line of contact and the absence of losses are serious diverge from reality.
