South Korean company KG Mobility showed the Torres EVX mid-size electric crossover in Seoul and immediately launched it on sale. The O100, F100 and KR10 concepts will also become production models in the near future.
The official transformation of SsangYong Motor into KG Mobility took place last week: the automaker, which has been in crisis for many years under the wing of the Indian corporation Mahindra & Mahindra is now owned by the South Korean concern KG Group. In Seoul, the new owners showed how the lineup will develop, but have not yet shown a new emblem: the Torres EVX crossover and concepts were on the stand without it, but with KG Mobility nameplates, in the Torres EVX cabin, the SsangYong emblem still flaunts on the steering wheel.< /p> KG Mobility Torres EVX 1/2 KG Mobility Torres EVX 2/2
The Torres EVX (pictured above) is an electric version of the Torres «hydrocarbon» crossover that debuted last year. Torres EVX differs from “just Torres” not only in the power plant, but also in design: the electric car has its own front end design and a completely original front panel in the cabin with a wide two-screen display, and natural wood is used in the decoration, emphasizing the environmental friendliness of the car.

Despite the fact that Torres EVX is already available for pre-order in South Korea, technical information about it is still extremely scarce. Overall length — 4715 mm, width — 1890 mm, height — 1725 mm, ground clearance — 174 mm. Salon — 5-seater, trunk volume — 839 liters (with the rear seats folded — 1662 liters). The capacity of the lithium-iron-phosphate battery supplied by the Chinese company BYD is 73.4 kWh, the power reserve on a single charge is 500 km in the WLTP cycle. Nothing is said about the powerplant.

Home market prices for Torres EVX start at 48.5 million won million rubles). Before the end of this year, Torres EVX will enter foreign markets, including the European one.
The three KG Mobility concepts shown in Seoul are expected to be in production by 2025, with no exact date yet. In general, it is clear that while there is confusion in KG Mobility due to the change of ownership, the work of the PR department is very poorly organized, there are no corporate photos of concepts, but, fortunately, they were “clicked” by the RSA correspondent — this is the official distributor of KG Mobility in the Scandinavian countries . All concepts are still without salons, their windows are tightly tinted.

The bright yellow O100 pickup truck is based on the Torres EVX crossover, but the wheelbase is greatly increased, the front end is designed a little more aggressively than that of the crossover, powerful towing eyes are on display, plump sills are equipped with wide footboards, mounts for additional accessories and luggage.

The F100 is a large electric SUV in typical SsangYong style, generously flavored with LED “color music”: the front is a light a scoreboard with large pixels, from which you can add simple patterns and drawings.
KG Mobility KR10
KR10 is a mid-size SUV, which is positioned as the ideological successor of the second-generation SsangYong Korando frame SUV well-known in Russia: the concept has similar proportions, a deliberately narrowed front with round headlights and the Korando lettering under the large mesh grille between the headlights. In fact, the KR10 is in the same size class as the Torres, so it is not yet clear how these models will coexist, we will wait for the details.

In addition to the concepts, KG Mobility showed a prototype platform for future electric vehicles, it has two electric motors (one per axle) that are part of deeply integrated power modules — in other words, the design is very compact. The development of this platform, according to a press release, should be completed by 2026, that is, the next novelties, obviously, will not be made on it.
