At the same time, the hatchback «with Chinese roots» turned out to be a little more expensive compared to the five-door Toyota Yaris.
< p>Chevrolet Aveo new generation debuted in Mexico in the middle of last month. Recall that patent pictures of the hatchback appeared on the Web in the spring of 2022, but that car was with the logos of the Chinese brand Wuling. In the summer of the same year, certification images of the four-door version were published, and already with the easily recognizable Chevy bow tie. Later, information appeared about the start of production of new products in the Middle Kingdom: the production was launched at the SAIC-GM-Wuling JV plant. At the same time, it became known that outside the PRC, the five-door and sedan would be sold with Chevrolet emblems, and Mexico would become their debut market.

Recall that here the four- and five-door state employees are positioned as the new generation Aveo family. Today, sales of the hatchback started in the Mexican market: the starting price of this model is 294,400 Mexican pesos, for the richer version you will have to pay 323,400 Mexican pesos. The cost of the sedan will be revealed later.
Note that the model turned out to be noticeably cheaper than the five-door Kia Rio , which in the local market costs a minimum of 323,900 Mexican pesos. But the Chevrolet Aveo hatch turned out to be slightly more expensive than the five-door version of the Toyota Yaris, which starts at 290,000 Mexican pesos.
The hatchback received a simple head optics, the headlights are visually connected to each other with the help of a «bracket» designed «in chrome» in the center which the logo is located. The model also has a small black grille, a trapezoidal air intake integrated into the lower part of the front bumper, and a silver stripe also runs along the lower edge.
The stern of the hatchback was “decorated” with lights that go to the tailgate, as well as black inserts that “support” the spoiler; they are echoed by black elements in the C-pillars, which merge with the glazing line. In the cabin of the new Chevrolet Aveo, you can see the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system sticking out of the front panel.

The new generation Mexican Aveo is equipped with six airbags, a seat belt indicator on all five seats, disc brakes on all wheels and an ABS system. The list also includes rear parking sensors, a rear view camera and a tire pressure monitoring system.

The car is offered with only one engine: it is about a 1.5-liter gasoline four-cylinder «aspirated», the return of which is 98 hp. (142 Nm). In the basic version, it works in tandem with a six-speed manual transmission, and in the richer version, with a CVT.

The new Chevrolet Aveo family should appear in other Latin American countries in the future, in addition, the model can reach the middle east. It is possible that deliveries of such machines to the Russian Federation can be arranged according to the scheme of parallel imports from China, however, in this case they will arrive with the logos of the «celestial» brand Wuling.
