The French brand Renault began selling the Captur crossover in the European market in 2013, the production of this model was launched at a plant in Spain. The second-generation SUV appeared in 2019, based on the CMF-B platform. This SUV should not be confused with the Renault Kaptur, which survived the restyling in 2020 and until recently was present on the Russian market (production was established at the capital's plant, which is now given over to the production of Muscovites).

As part of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, a new Mitsubishi ASX was developed, designed for Europe: as Kolesa.ru reported earlier, it became the “twin” of the current Renault Captur SUV. Now the novelty of the Japanese brand is entering the market, while there are practically no differences in appearance: of course, rhombuses have replaced the logo in the form of three diamonds, and a pattern of shiny plates has appeared on the ASX radiator grille, but that's it.

Unsurprisingly, Renault has thought about the need to «distance» from the old and now not unique design, so the European Captur is waiting for an update in the near future. There is no official information about what the refreshed Captur will look like yet, so for now we will have to use the imagination of the artists: the designer of the Spanish publication Motor.es shared with us his version of the potential appearance of the restyled SUV.

It is assumed that most of the visual changes will be concentrated in the front of the SUV. At the same time, most likely, the Renault Austral crossover presented a year ago will influence the exterior design. In a similar style, the radiator grille of the model will probably be decorated. Judging by the render, the refreshed Captur can get a new head optics with a new shape of headlights, as well as LED «fangs» that will turn into strokes inscribed in «boomerangs». The taillights are expected to retain their «C-shaped» shape, but they will have their graphics changed. In addition, the updated Renault Captur is likely to get wheels with a new original design, as well as an expanded palette and additional body color options. The interior can also get its share of updates, such as a new multifunction steering wheel, other upholstery materials and other plastics, as well as improved driver assistants in the equipment list.
Capture's vehicles will most likely not be touched during the update. Recall that the basic version of the SUV is offered with a petrol 1.0-liter «turbo engine» (power — 91 hp) paired with a six-speed «mechanics». The next in the range is a 1.3-liter “turbo-four”, working in tandem with a 12-volt starter-generator, while in the version with a manual gearbox, the system produces 140 hp, and with a seven-speed “automatic” with two clutches — 158 hp The line also includes a “regular” hybrid (without the possibility of charging from the mains) with a “aspirated” volume of 1.6 liters and a battery with a capacity of 1.3 kWh (return — 145 hp). There is also a rechargeable hybrid with the same atmospheric engine, but with a different battery — 10.5 kWh; the total power of this unit is 160 hp.
