NALCHIK, April 3 Ingushetia's prosecutor's office approved an indictment in a criminal case against two residents of the republic who are accused of planning to sell heroin and at the same time diluting it with cane sugar, the regional regulator said.
In addition to the obvious harm of heroin in itself, mixing the drug with various substances carries an additional risk of overdose and death — given that there are no «standards» and cannot be, and exceeding the usual dosage easily leads to death.

«According to investigators, in February 2022, two residents of Ingushetia in the Moscow Region purchased about 1.5 kilograms of heroin. Arriving on the territory of the republic, they, mixing drugs with cane sugar in order to increase its mass, packaged it in 41 bundles for subsequent sale in bookmarks,» the release says.
The defendants in the criminal case were charged under the article «Attempted illegal sale of narcotic drugs on an especially large scale, committed by an organized group» of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the sanction of which provides for up to 20 years in prison. The case was sent to the Nazranovsky District Court for consideration on the merits.
