YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, April 5 In the south of Sakhalin, rescuers removed almost a hundred fishermen from an ice floe, the regional head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported on the Telegram channel.
According to the department, this happened on Lake Changeable in the Korsakov district. Due to the positive temperature, an ice floe 20 centimeters thick broke away from the shore. Members of the search and rescue team went to the place.
«At 17:20 rescuers <…> removed from the ice floe 42 fishermen, 50 fishermen were withdrawn from the ice field,» the publication says.
In total, 12 people and four pieces of equipment participated in the operation.
